Meet Jake

Our native Texan, Jake, was born and raised in San Antonio. Growing up, his passion was percussion. His skills as a drummer have shown to be helpful throughout his dancing and teaching career. He first started dancing in 2009 while he was at the University of Texas and began teaching a few years later. “I love dancing because I love to perfect a routine. The combination of kinesthetics and music challenge both my brain and body.” Jake competed in ballroom and Latin before turning pro to compete in Country Western and West Coast Swing. He has numerous top teacher and top student awards and loves to help his students surpass their own expectations. Besides teaching and dancing, Jake loves to juggle, play golf, and listen to audiobooks.

Words from our students:

“I started dancing after my youngest went off to college. I had been “Mom” for the past 20 years and done everything for my children and now I was embarking on a journey of something for myself. Wow! It’s been a wonderful experience; I have grown in many ways through dance. More confidence, better skills, new friends, and wonderful relationships.

My instructor, Jake Greene is a man of many talents, a great coach and mentor. His ability to teach and push me beyond what I thought I could do amazes me. His energy and love for dance is infectious. His encouraging words are thoughtful and sincere and yet, he can be very playful and funny. This is reflected and can be seen in every partnership he has on the floor. Whether it be with any of his students ranging from a variety of skills levels to his professional partnerships. His love of dance and how he helps all of his students is a true blessing. He nails it!”
